Worst 24 hour Bug Ever

Ronan had his endoscopy done Thursday September 29th. The surgeon showed me pictures afterward and I was shocked.  Where his stomach and esophagus joined it looked completely closed.  I'm not sure how anything was able to get down.  The surgeon told me he wasn't completely optimistic because he had dilated slightly to try and prevent the wrap from coming undone.
His doctor thought he might need one more dilation but said try and feed him some pureed foods once he was awake enough.  When we got back to the room he began playing and the nurse sent up a food tray.  On the tray was some pureed chicken, carrots and applesauce.  If only I'd known how problematic the chicken would become I would have avoided it.
Ronan ate the food perfectly with no choking incidences.  His doctor was pleased and said as long as things went well he'd be going home in the morning.  On Friday morning I headed up to the hospital early hoping I would be bringing Ronan back with me.
The nurse was just getting his discharge papers ready when he had a huge blow out.  I changed him and the nurse said she had to get a sample apparently he had one the night before and the doctor had requested testing if he had another one.
From there things got crazy.  He had 15 explosively full diapers in an hour  At this point doctors were coming in and out of the room looking at him.  His eyes looked sunk into his head and he was the angriest I've ever seen him.  Nothing I tried worked.  We tried giving him pedialyte and within minutes he would have another diaper.
A new IV was a must but he was bruised up everywhere so they put it in his head.  He had to have arm restraints to prevent him from pulling it out. The next day he was doing well again and was able to slowly work up to eating.  His sample came back as a bacteria called camplyobacter, a bacteria which is a type of food poisoning  and most often comes from bad chicken.
The doctors told me after Ronan was in the safe zone that he was really scaring them.  They had sent in several doctors because they were very worried about him.  His nurse told me in all the years she's been working in the pediatric unit she'd never seen anything like it.
On Sunday Ronan was doing a lot better and it was determined he could be sent home.  He was one happy boy when he arrived home.  He has been doing really well and is back to his laid back self.
