Pajama Time! is one of Inara's favorite books. It's where a bunch of farm animals dance before going to bed or something to that effect. We had our own little Pajama time tonight because each of the kids got new pjs or as Inara loves to enthusiastically say "Jammies!!!!"
Landon got Scooby Doo.
Xander got monsters and he would like you to note they have monster face feet, he is very proud of that fact.
Jadzia got a Minnie Mouse night gown.
Ronan got frog ones that read : Mommy's Little Prince.
Inara's were striped jammies with ballet slippers.
Today was Ronan's follow-up Endocrinology appointment. He has been doing wonderful since he came home with no sugar lows. I couldn't be more thrilled with this. His Endorinologist told me today the reason that he didn't seem to fit Dumping Syndrome at first was because his case was so severe.
Most people who have Dumping syndrome just get stomach issues from it and then some get mild to moderate hypoglycemia. But it is extremely rare to have as profoundly severe a case as Ronan has. Dumping Syndrome usually goes away after a few months but a few people have it for life and some even develope type 2 diabetes as result of it. Ronan's long term prognosis is unknown.
For now we are sticking to what is working. In a few months his doctor will start eliminating his overnight feeds and see if his glucose stays stable through the night if we are successful he will slowly be weaned from his medication to see if the dumping syndrome has disappeared.
Ronan also has adrenal insufficiency from being on steroids for asthma for too long. This makes it so he does not produce adrenaline when he is stressed. He can't cope with medical procedures, illness or other stressful events without being stress dosed. We even have an emergency shot to give him if he goes into adrenal crisis at home. This is also a condition that should hopefully go away although again like the dumping it can be life long. Next month he will go to the hospital as an outpatient and have an adrenal gland test.
From what I understand they run some kind of stress hormone through an IV and then see how much adrenaline his body is able to produce. Based on this test they will know if he still has adrenal insufficiency and if so how severe it is. In the larger picture of things Ronan is doing very well right now. I am praying this will continue for a long while ahead.

Landon is back! He was missed and we're glad he's back. He had a good time with his grandparents and enjoyed the extra attention.
| I need shoes! |
This week was also shoe shopping week. It is BOGO at payless which makes it the perfect time to buy shoes for four kids. Ronan gets his shoes through an orthopedic doctor because of his braces. The girls went first as it is much easier to take two kids at a time than four. The girls had to try on nearly every pair in their size. Inara and Jadzia both picked pink and white princess shoes. They matched each other exactly. We also enjoyed a pretzel and chit chat together before we left the mall.
The boys on the other hand spotted what they wanted right away and we were out of the store in under ten minutes. It was nice being out with just two at a time and being able to focus on just those kids.
Miss Inara loves looking at herself in the mirror. Everyday she climbs onto the step stool and admires herself in the mirror. She knows it is her because when you ask her who she is looking at she smiles and says "Me, Nara!"
And here are the random pics of the week.

Ronan wishes everyone a goodnight from his comfy little bed.
