2012

I always find myself wondering where did the year just go and these thoughts usually start showing up around Thanksgiving time.  The hustle of the holidays sets a rhythm that causes time to pass even more quickly and before you know it the ball is dropping in New York City and shouts and fireworks bring in another year.  Another chance to change and start fresh.

Things I am looking forward to in the new year.  My kids' birthday parties.  I dread the fact they grow so quickly but I love throwing them birthday parties.  Perhaps the biggest event will by the arrival of baby Fullmer 2012.  I think I'm just as excited for his/her arrival as I was for Landon's and every child since. I have my 20 week ultrasound this Friday and I'm looking forward to seeing him/her again on the screen.  There are many other things I'm looking for this year to bring but for now let's talk about New Years Eve.

I did a photo shoot of Inara in her lady bug pjs and she looks as adorable as always so here are some of those.

Jadzia, my mom and I went shopping.  I thought Jadzia would enjoy a girls' day out.  I let her pick out a treat and she chose a princess crown with pink curly hair extensions and lip gloss.  She had to run in and ask her Daddy if she looked beautiful as soon as we got home.  Her dad agreed she was the prettiest princess he's ever seen.

I decided to make tonight fun for the kids.  We had a special dinner but dessert was the best part.  We made ice cream cones with personalized toppings.  Ronan couldn't have the icecream or the cone but I don't think he minded as his Grandma kept him occupied.

But this was Inara's very first ice cream cone.  She wore a very blue face to prove just how much she loved it.

we finished the evening watching movies.  Isaac had to leave and the babies and Jadzia fell asleep.  I snuck the boys out of their room and we sat on the upstairs couch and watched one extra movie.  The movie ended as the clock hit midnight and the boys jumped up and down. Their smiles were the best way to bring in a new year.

Happy New Year, Everyone!  I hope 2012 brings you many blessings.

Umbrella Jumpimg

Every kid has to try it once.  At least those that have ownership of an umbrella.  Landon and Jadzia received umbrellas for Christmas and Xander got one when his second tooth fell out.  Xander's was a gift from the tooth fairy.  Now what is the stunt Landon surmised he  could accomplish with his umbrellas?  Umbrella jumping.

Yes, that's right he thought his umbrella would catch the air allowing the effects of gravity to greatly slow.  I was relieved he did not wish to test this venture from the roof or top of the stairs.  Simply from the side of the couch so we did a science experiment.  Landon's hypothesis was it would slow him greatly down and he would glide two feet to the floor.  We set some safety rules up and he was told this was a one time deal.  Once I proved my point he could no longer try umbrella jumping.
What did he discover when he accomplished his jump?  That umbrellas really don't slow down gravity but it was fun to find out.  Maybe next week when school starts up again we'll have to figure out the full scientific explanation to gravity and its properties.

In other news as you can tell from the umbrella jumping the big kids are back.  Landon's glasses came in and we went to pick them up.  He looks very handsome.

He and Ronan are glasses buddies now.

Inara and Jadzia got necklaces and bracelets from Grandma and had to wear them around the house throughout the day.

Here are my Irish twins giggling together on the couch.  I really don't know what was funny but they seem to understand each other.  They truly look like twins now as Inara is now the same height as Ronan.

Lastly here are the extra photos.

Grandma got a Puppy

Grandma and Grandpa Fullmer got a puppy for Christmas.  The puppy is named Taffy and he is 3 months old.  Taffy created the need for my three oldest children to stay at their grandparents' for a few days so they could play with the puppy.

When Grandma Fullmer came to pick up Landon, Xander and Jadzia she brought the puppy for everyone to see.  Inara actually did ok seeing as she normal runs in terror from anything with fur that is not stuffed.  The fact she stayed in the room was improvement.  I was even more impressed when she pet the puppy and let him get close to her.

Jadzia actually did pretty good as well as she is also terrified of most live animals.  She stayed back for a little while but eventually after a lot of reassurance on the safety of the puppy she pet him.  I'm sure she's probably warmed up to Taffy by now as they have been at Grandma's since Monday morning.

Landon and Xander adored Taffy from the start.  They have always loved all animals.  I have spent a large amount of time going over the rules of approaching strange animals as I'm somewhat sure they would enthusiastically bound up to a grizzly bear if we were to ever wander upon one.
And no there are no pictures of Ronan and the puppy as he preferred to avoid Taffy. Ronan is the type of guy who has to be around someone/something before he says "hi".  But I think taffy was definitely a hit with everyone else.
