On The Second Day of Christmas
I'm considering posting everyday for the 12 days of Christmas since I've already done the first and now the second. The only thing would be I need to think of an activity for everyday for the next 12 days.
Today's activity was swimming. Ronan is staying with my mom so I haven't seen him at all today. My mom did say he was having some blood sugar issues even when he doesn't eat anything with protein. I noticed this was starting to occur as well so if this continues I may have to make a call to his Endocrinologist tomorrow.
The rest of the kids and I went swimming for a few hours and then relaxed in the hotel rooms for awhile. After supper we headed back to the pool and Grandma Fullmer joined us.
Today the mom debate in my head was whether or not Landon was old enough to go down the big water slide all by himself (I don't have a picture of the large water slide don't let the tiny ones confuse you. The big ones were a two or three stories high). I finally agreed he could as long as he held the rail all the way up the steps and walked. He complied to the rules and I nervously watched on. The event went off without a hitch and Landon now feels like I am seeing him as more of a big boy.
Be careful Landon Mommy doesn't want to let go to quickly but she knows she will have to when the time comes. I'm finding it hard with him since he is my first baby. Everything with him is new in the parenting arena. How do I know when he's the right age to do whatever it is he is finding himself old enough to do?
I think common sense is a obvious factor because obviously you don't leave a six year old home alone but what about much lesser things like his first large water slide. I think in the end you have to know your kid and mix that with the common sense and make the best judgement possible. I still have a long way to go with this parenting thing and maybe just maybe when the last kid is packing for college I'll know a thing or two about letting go until then I will anxiously watch all the first from an cautious distance.
