On the First Day of Christmas.

I got the kids dressed and breakfast was served and then Ronan and I jetted off to his Endocrinologist appointment.  We ended up being there for three and half hours.  We had a detailed conversation with his doctor and then he had a sugar low while we were there so his Endocrinologist was helping me to get him to eat something to bring it back up.  After that his nurse gave me more demos on medications they are putting him on.

Last thing was a visit with the dietician.  She thinks with Ronan's poor appetite he is headed to being malnourished.  She said she is going to work on a plan for me to keep him well nourished.  I told her I was very overwhelmed due to all his diet restrictions and the fact he can only have pureed foods and has to have thickened liquids.  She told me that she was overwhelmed looking at his file and nutrition is her field.  She said she can imagine how hard it is to figure out what to feed him.  She told me it would take her a few hours but she would go over everything and give me a good practical plan for Ronan by the end of this week.  I'm very excited about the prospect of a better feeding plan for him.

After a quick run to the store and the packing of bags we headed to dinner and then the hotel.  The first thing on the agenda was presents.  The kids were amazed at seeing all the presents piled up for them.  On the door hung beautiful stockings that had their names embroidered on them.

The first gifts opened left me very impressed.  Each of the kids had a hand sewn quilt  and pillow case made by their Grandma and Great Aunt Sue.  I know a great amount of love, detail and time went into each quilt and pillow case.
Landon's quilt had monster trucks all over it.  He has loved monster trucks since before he could even say monster trucks.  One of his highlight memories was going to Monster jam when he was three.

Xander's was a jungle quilt.  He saw the gorilla on it and his eyes lit up.  Gorillas are his favorite animal and he couldn't believe how cool the gorilla on his quilt was.  He liked all the other animals as well.

Jadzia gasped in amazement at her beautiful pink ballerina quilt.  She immediately had to wrap up in it and said over and over "It's so pretty!"

Ronan's quilt was adorable and was one of his favorite themes: sock monkeys.  He laughed when we set him on the quilt.

Inara's was of course lady bugs.  Inara patted her quilt and got mad when Grandpa started folding it up.  She wanted to hang on to it.

The kids loved all their gifts.  Once present were all unwrapped and paper and boxes thrown away we went for a little swim in the water park.  We ended the night with late night pizza with the determination to enjoy ourselves.

Tomorrow promises more water fun.  I'm glad we've had this family time. And as always here are more pictures.
